PLATES & COCKADE. 1) ENLISTED. A gray trimmed Prussian enlisted helmet w/ eagle, rear spine, spike & partial chinstrap. CONDITION: body is misshaped. Spike base is missing 2 attachment studs. Chinstrap is broken. No cockades. 2) ENLISTED. A brass trimmed Prussian enlisted helmet w/ eagle, rear spine, spike & national cockade. No chinstrap. CONDITION: body is in fairly good shape. Spike is undamaged. No Prussian cockade. 3) ENLISTED. A gray trimmed enlisted helmet w/ no plate, spike, chinstrap or cockades. CONDITION: body is a bit rough but solid. There are extra holes in the front. Spine, visor border, spike base & side lugs are intact. 4) OFFICER. An officer’s grade silver trimmed helmet w/ tall officer’s spike & wide cross base. Eagle appears to be Prussian w/ a sm. green enamel shield on its chest likely for a sm. principality. Partial silver scaled chinstrap. Prussian & national officer’s cockades intact. CONDITION: body is crazed & misshaped. Spike base is missing 1 star stud. Chinstrap is broken. Cockades are quite nice. 5) ENLISTED. A gray metal fitted Prussian Jager zu Pferde helmet. Gray metal eagle & spike w/ steel body. No chinstrap or cockades. CONDITION: helmet appears to have at one time been painted white. 1 Side lug is missing. No liner. There are tape & bandaids on the inside holding pieces in place. 6) ENLISTED. A Prussian Jager zu Pferde helmet. Gilded eagle, spike vent & side lugs. No chinstrap or cockades. CONDITION: helmet has been chrome plated. The plate & other highlights have been gold plated. No liner. 7) WWI STEEL STAHLHELM. Helmet has no liner or chinstrap & is a near relic. The helmet does have the remains of period camouflage paint & a WWII style German eagle & national colors have been painted under the side bolts. CONDITION: outside finish is about 50% w/ the remainder being oxidized iron. Interior is quite rusty. 8) HAT PLATE. A pre-WWI Prussian spike helmet gilded hat plate. CONDITION: plate shows light wear but is missing attachment loops on the reverse. 9) HAT PLATE. A pre-WWI Bavarian spike helmet silvered hat plate. CONDITION: plate shows light wear but is missing the crown over the Bavarian arms. 10) COCKADE. An officer’s pattern national cockade w/ 1 chin scale attached. CONDITION: light wear.
