7 Day New Zealand Free-Range Tahr & Chamois Hunt for 2 Hunters in 2020 or 2021 with Metanoia Ventures, Ltd. Backcountry Tahr hunts based out of the eastern side of the main mountain region of the South Island. A hunting concession with 75,000 acres of pristine mountain hunting terrain, from tussock basins through to sub alpine forests. This hunt is a mountain hunt using wall tents or backcountry huts. You will have a lot of fun living in the hills and hunting the monarchs of the mountain, the majestic bull Tahr. Hunts from March till November each year.
The Tahr have three color phases. Blonde in summer, a beautiful dark coat in winter and a mix of both colors in spring. The most sought-after coat is their winter coat that they hold from April till August. They are one of the only species, apart from the African lion, that has a mane.
Tahr are the ultimate mountain big game animal in the Southern Alps. The hunts involve lots of hiking and glassing and planning; spotting a bull is only the beginning of the adventure. A true free-range adventure.
Chamois is a type of medium-sized goat-antelope that belongs to the Bovidae family. There are 2 species of chamois that are native to southern and central parts of Europe and Asia Minor. Chamois can be also found on the New Zealand, where it has been introduced at the beginning of the 20th century
They are a very curious game and a lot of fun to hunt as they roam a large mix of sub alpine and alpine terrain.
Apart from the Chamois other game you might see are Red Stags that occasionally roam the same country in places. We either access the country by 4x4 or by helicopter to gain access to the areas that they roam. The free-range hunts are a lot of fun and you'll see some of the most pristine and wild country that New Zealand has to offer. You will also need a moderate to high level of fitness for the free-range, multi-day hunt
Purchaser must apply for tag four months prior to hunt.

Bidders paying with a credit card will be charged a 3% administration fee. A buyer’s premium of 5% will be added to the final bid price of each item sold online.

Live Auction Rules
Auctioneer and staff will decide any disputes regarding the bids during the live auction.
Donors are not allowed to bid on their own donations nor have any agent bid on their behalf. If the Auctioneer recognizes such bidding or is advised of the same he may withdraw any or all items donated by the offender.
Some of the items on the donated hunts may not be included unless specified:
A. Travel expenses to and from destination
B. Hotel and meals before and after the hunt and/or trip
C. Licenses, tags or permits.
D. Trophy dipping, packaging and shipping.
E. Alcoholic Beverages
F. Gratuities
Most hunts, unless otherwise noted, are for the upcoming season. . Special arrangements other than as set forth on the auction list are expressly between the donor and yourself.
Some non-hunt donations will require delivery at your expense. Any firearms that may be included in the auction are subject to all state and federal laws. Transactions for these items will be handled by an approved FFL provider. The FFL provider information will be sent to the winning bidder for completion of transfer.
Payment for auction items may be deductible as business expenses but are not deductible as charitable donations for Federal Income Tax purposes. Please consult your tax advisor and the IRS for more information.

No services in the live auction are to be or will be performed by P&Y. P&Y shall bear no responsibility for the delivery or quality of any of the services or for any loss or damage arising from or related to or connected with the performance or nonperformance of such services. The high bidder further acknowledges that in the event services are purchased, P&Y cannot be responsible or liable for any political unrest or instability that may occur outside the confines of the United States, nor can P&Y be accountable for any injuries or damages that may arise there from. The high bidder further acknowledges that his purchase is final and nonrefundable under any and all circumstances, and that should legal action be required to collect for these services acquired by the high bidder at the auction, P&Y shall be entitled to all reasonable attorney’s fees, costs of court, and interest as provided by law.
