1) model 1905 bayonet manufactured by Springfield Armory in 1909.15 3/4" blade, with 20 3/8" overall length. Smooth 2 piece wood grip. U.S.N. MK I pattern metal and plastic scabbard. CONDITION: blade shows heavy sharpening marks overall. Grip shows some scattered handling marks, but is otherwise sturdy and serviceable. Scabbard shows scattered handling marks, with oxidation on metal components. 2) M1 Garand bayonet manufactured by PAL. 9 3/4" blade, with 14 3/8" overall length. Left side of ricasso is stamped "PAL" within an oval above "U (Flaming Ordnance Bomb) S". 2 piece grooved black plastic grip. Plastic and metal scabbard is stamped "U.S." within a flaming ordnance bomb on the hanger. CONDITION: blade retains large amounts of its parkerized finish, exhibiting wear and thinning overall that thows through to gray patina. Grips show some scattered handling marks, but otherwise remains turdy and serviceable. Scabbard shows scattered handling marks, and oxidation on metal components. 3) M5-1 bayonet stamped "U.S. M5-1/ J&D TOOL CO" on the guard. Blued balde with 2 piece checkered black plastic grip. M8A1 pattern scabbard manufactured by V.P. CO. CONDITION: blade shows wear, thinning, and areas of pitting overall. Grip shows smoothing and scattered handling marks. Scabbard exhibits wear overall, but remains sturdy and serviceable. 4) M6 bayonet marked "U.S. M6/ MILPAR COL" on the guard. 6 5/8" blade, with 11 3/8" overall length. Dark phosphate finish with 2 piece checkered black plastic grips. M8A1 pattern scabbard. CONDITION: blade retains the majority of its phosphate finish, exhibiting areas of wear and thinning from the scabbard. Grips show a few scattered handling marks. Scabbard shows wear overall, but otherwise remains sturdy and serviceable. 5) Case XX survival machete. 9 1/8" blued blade, with 15 3/8" overall length. Blade stamped "CASE XX" on left side and retains its blade enamel finished blade protector. 2 piece smooth wood grip. CONDITION: blade exhibits mild wear, with scattered surface oxidation overall. Blade protector exhibits flaking and some minor losses, but otherwise is good. Grip shows scattered marks from handling and storage, with a small loss on the left side. 6) Custom WWII fighting knife by Frank Richtig. 4 1/4" spearpoint blade, with 8 1/8" overall length. Grip is comprised of leather, red fiber, and brass spacers, and features an aluminum and steel pommel. Aluminum pommel is stamped with partially discernible text including "F/ CLARK", with "CLARKS" on the opposite side. Unmarked brown leather scabbard. CONDITION: blade exhibits some light spots of pitting and sharpening marks, but is otherwise good. Grip shows some scattered handling marks and wear, but is otherwise good. Scabbard shows wear overall, but remains sturdy and serviceable. 7) KA-BAR stamped "Kabar" in a stylized font above "1209 USA" on the left side of the ricasso. 5 7/8" parkerized blade, with 11" overall length. Wood grip with black anodized aluminum pommel. Black leather scabbard. CONDITION: blade is very good, with some light wear. Grip shows some light wear, but is otherwise very good. Scabbard is good overall. 8) German dress bayonet. 10" blade, with 14 7/8" overall length. Ricasso is maker marked with a helmet over "W.F.P." on the left side of the ricasso. Nickel plated finish with 2 piece checkered black plastic grips. Complete with black metal scabbard. CONDITION: metal components show wear to their nickel plated finish overall, with scattered spots oxidation. Grip shows smoothing, but otherwise is good. Scabbard shows some flaking and losses to its finish, with areas of oxidation and a dent on one side. PROVENANCE: From the Lifelong Collection of Glen E. Mattox. (02-28530/MLW). $700-900.
