IN FINE ORIGINAL CONDITION. Cal. 12 Ga. S# 22116. The 30" bbls. with narrow matted rib are marked "CHROMOX FLUID COMPRESSED STEEL" "MADE BY A.H. FOX GUN CO. PHILA. PA. U.S.A." on tops. Bbl. flats are stamped with serial number, grade, and "FOX PROOF". Casehardened boxlock Fox action with rotary bolt, features automatic safety and double triggers. Action is engraved in later "A" grade style with 80% coverage of shaded acanthus. Blued trigger guard has serial number on tang. Straight grip stock of lightly figured American walnut measures 14 1/4" over serrated hard rubber buttplate. Flat top point pattern checkering is at grip. Matching splinter ejector forend with patent dates on iron has Deeley release. MEASUREMENTS: BBLS.: Bore Diameter: R: .728", L: .729". Restrictions: R: .021" (MOD), L: .035" (FULL). Minimum Wall Thickness: R: .032", L: .034". STOCK: DAH: 2 7/8+". DAC: 1 11/16". CAST: neutral. LOP: 14 1/4". WEIGHT: 7 lbs. 11 oz. CONDITION: fine to very fine. Bbls. retaining 70-80% original blue with some rubs and losses at normal carry point and in front of fences. Action retains 60-70% original casehardening color fading to silver around bottom and on fences from normal hand wear. Blue on trigger guard is considerably thinned and silver on edges of bow and gray to brown on tang. Stocks retain most of their original finish with a number of light marks. Some oil has been added as maintenance. Sling loops have been removed with two plugged holes in bottom rib and one plugged hole in toe line. Bores are bright and shiny. Action is tight. Ejectors are strong and slightly out of time. A solid Fox gun, relatively scarce with original straight grip stock. (22-962/MGM). CURIO. $1,500-2,500.
