A. H. WATERS & CO. MODEL 1836 FLINTLOCK PISTOL

Cal. 54. NSN. It is estimated that only 3,000 pistols marked in this manner were made. It is of standard configuration. The 54 cal. 8 1/2" round barrel is marked “JH" & "P” on rear. Barrel is fitted with bridle holding steel ramrod. Flintlock is marked “A.H. WATERS & CO” “MILLBURY MASS.” “1844” under eagle head in front of reinforced round bodied cock. Inset pan is of brass. All interior parts are stamped with “I” and “C” assembly marks which is also found on frizzen. Cock is stamped “D”. Walnut stock is iron mounted. Inspector’s initials are on left side behind sideplate with stamps “JJC”? and “WAT”. Left side is also stamped “17H”. CONDITION: good as cleaned and lightly refinished. All iron parts cleaned to pewter gray over scattered light pitting. Stock with old oil refinish is shiny with a few light marks. Inspector’s initials are good. Bore is somewhat rusted. Lock is good.
