The bore diameter .50, the barrel length is 36.5& #34;, the overall length is 55.5& #34;.
The fine Damascus barrel with the twist pattern in relief, inlaid with gold at muzzle and breech,
the bore deeply rifled. Trigger with openwork designs, barrel bands and other stock
furniture of silver with decoration in blue and green enamel. The stock of dense dark-colored
hardwood, with flaring butt and sharply recurved wrist. This gun is of north Indian origin, a finely-made sporting gun made for someone of position and wealth.
The shape of the stock places it in the region of Sind in the northwestern part of the subcontinent and the local gunmaking industry was known for exceptionally
high standards of workmanship. This example is notable for its use of enameled silver decoration and
furniture, a rather scarce feature. Most high-end Sind guns are flintlocks and matchlocks are relatively scarce.
