ABRAHAM LINCOLN, 1832 BLACK HAWK POWDER HORN.
This 15 1/2" horn has a fitted screw top stopper. An American eagle is engraved w/ a front angle view w/ wings spread upward in flight. A banner running through the wings is engraved "Huzza New Salem Boys Hoorah". The eagle's right talon is grasping a sword; the left talon is grasping arrows & a bow. An American shield is engraved above the left talon w/ the word "Might" at the top. Around the base of the horn is engraved "Capt. Abraham Lincoln, His Horn, 1832". Above this engraving is a banner engraved "David M. Pantier Made This". If this horn is original, it is a national treasure. The horn has provenance going back about 40 years as can be seen in the lg. file of research & correspondence. Sold as is, w/ no warranty.
