ALASKA PTARMIGAN HUNT AT THE FAMOUS RAINY PASS LODGE -Steve and Denise Perrins are offering a 3-night stay with family style meals for 2. Rainy Pass Lodge is located along the famous Iditarod Trail. WELCOME TO THE PERRINS RAINY PASS LODGE Alaska’s oldest hunting and recreation lodge! [Situated 125 air miles Northwest of Anchorage, Alaska. Visiting the Lodge is like stepping back to a time when all of North America was untouched by man’s hands — wild, magnificent, and rugged. The Lodge is your rustic, yet well-appointed, home from which you can hunt, fish, ski, view the Iditarod or participate in any number of other winter activities, or just relax amid the majesty of the Alaska Range. The Perrins family is there to make sure you are comfortable, well fed, and wonderfully worn out at the end of each day. The Perrins Rainy Pass Lodge is your rustic, yet well-appointed ‘Cabin in the Woods’ nestled in the heart of the Alaska Range. The buildings here are primarily log cabins dating back to 1937. The lodge is located on 5 acres of private land and surrounded by hundreds of miles of un-inhabited State land . On the property there are 12 main buildings with a handful of little sheds and service buildings. Off the property are 10 ‘OUT CAMPS’ that we use for guest activities and hunting camps. Ptarmigan hunting is a relaxing, easy hunting experience available for all ages. A great way to start off a young kid or good practice at homing in your skills a with scope or shotgun. These birds are not your typical ‘on-the-wing’ type shooting. Although you can use a shotgun (typically a .410 or 20 gauge). The Ptarmigan stay on the ground a lot and it is actually quite sporting to use a scoped or open-sights .22 magnum rifle. Regardless of your firearm choice, you will have a blast as you navigate your own snow machine through the willows and up the creeks looking for these beautiful birds that sometimes gather in the hundreds. There are many great outdoor activities to be based from the beautiful lodge!
