Cal. 44. S# 107. Bbl. 7 1/2". Brass blade front sight. Uberti made the Dragoon revolver and issued it by America Remembers to commemorate the revolver given by Sam Colt to Texas Ranger Ben McCulloch. Case-colored frame, ejector rod assembly, & hammer. Silver-plated grip straps & trigger guard. Backstrap has an inscription that reads, "Presented by Sam. Colt to Maj. Ben McCulloch, Jan. 1, 1848". Cyl. is also silver-plated w/ western scenes. Blued bbl. assembly w/ gold portraits of Sam Colt & Ben McCulloch. Also present on bbl. are their signatures and a gold Texas Ranger badge. Smooth walnut grips w/ silver medallion on the left panel that has the Texas Ranger motto, "Free as the Breeze Swift as a mustang Tough as a cactus". UNATTACHED ACCESSORIES: presentation case w/ powder flask, nipple wrench, & loading tool. CONDITION: grips & metal show some light handling marks. Very good-plus, bright bore. PROVENANCE: the collection of Gun Sport Ltd., owned by Jon R. Thomas. (01-24164/MJC). ANTIQUE. $1,500-2,000.
