Cal. about 65. NSN. Bbl. 44 1/8" oct. measuring 1" across flats. German silver blade front sight w/ fixed V notch rear sight. Trade lock w/ borderline engraving marked "HOMER". Dbl. set triggers. Full length pin fastened curly maple cheek piece stock. Right side behind cheekpiece has attractive deep relief carving w/ vine type foliate scroll surrounding a lion's head. Toeline of stock is highlighted by incise carved lines on both sides. Right side of stock has rectangular lid segmented patch box w/ fancy finial having hand engraving. Button top patch box release located a buttplate peak. Other brass fittings include crescent buttplate, toeplate, finger curl trigger guard, side plate, thimble, 2 pipes & nose cap. Brass tipped hardwood ramrod. Oval brass tag marked "J.M. DAVIS / 3595 / MEMORIAL" is attached to trigger guard. CONDITION: bbl. has dark patina appearance showing dents & light pitting. Lock has mottled gray brown appearance w/ light pitting. Lock will cock & fire w/ triggers in set position.
