Cal. 9mm. S# SA00819. Bbl.16.25". Originally designed in Portugal by INDEP in 1993. The name "LUSA" derives from Lusitania, which was the Roman name for the Iberian region that covers present day central and southern Portugal and part of Spain. Aesthetically it has recognizable features primarily from the MP5 family, even utilizing the same trigger pack. Originally designed with military & law enforcement in mind, the project was discontinued in 1992. In 1994 INDEP sold the dies, tooling, fixtures and manufacturing rights to Stan Andrewski, owner of Stan's Gunsmithing in Webster New Hampshire and the LUSA USA went into production as a closed bolt, recoil operated system. This particular example is a carbine. Matte black finish on all exposed metal surfaces. Right side folding stock, similar to the HK PDW stock. Protected post front sight, adjustable for elevation. Protected peep fixed rear sight. Left side, non reciprocating charging handle. 13" faux suppressor over barrel, weighing in at 6 ounces. Left side controls on steel "S-E" trigger group & mag release, located forward of trigger group. Overall weight w/ empty mag, 8 pounds, 6 ounces. MAGS: 1 steel 30 rd. CONDITION: all aspects indicate very little use, if any. Finish enjoys complete & consistent coverage w/ the majority of wear limited to areas of mechanical intervention, which happens almost immediately. Stock locks tightly when extended. Bore is bright w/ strong rifling. Fire control mechanism appears to function correctly when cycled by hand. (23-2323/JZ). MODERN. $400-600.
