EARLY DUTCH PARTS. Cal. approx. 75. NSN. Bbl. 44 1/4", has lineal decoration at the breech & 9" up from the breech. There is a brass rectangular sight near the muzzle. The iron lock is of typical Dutch form & appears to have illegible markings in front of the cock. Brass trigger guard has a lobed front & is held in by 2 iron screws. There is a brass base plate that connects the trigger guard to the brass buttplate. The sideplate, ramrod thimbles, entry thimble & nosecap band are all brass. Both iron sling swivels are present. There is a brass tipped wooden ramrod. Stock shows a scalloped shell carved design behind the bbl. tang. The wrist shows carved decoration where it meets the butt. CONDITION: bbl. has a dark mottled patina. The lock has an even dark patina & holds both full & half cock. All brass parts have a deep, rich patina. Ramrod is full length. The stock shows moderate to heavy overall wear attesting to its lengthy service in the field. It does show minor losses around the buttplate & some tiny losses around the lockplate. Fair bore.
