ANTIQUE PARKER  GH  SHOTGUN ON 1 1/2 FRAME.
Cal. 12 Ga., 2 5/8". S# 87678. (1898). Bbls. 28" Damascus, engraved w/ Parker Meridan address & "DAMASCUS STEEL" on standard matted concave rib. All correct markings are on bbl. flats & lumps, rear lump stamped w/ frame size "1 1/2". Case hardened Parker action w/ all correct markings & numbers on water table, features automatic safety & dbl. triggers. Action engraved in usual "G" style w/ sprays of scroll w/ in geometric borders surrounding oval vignettes of gamebirds. A pair of flying ducks? are on left & scampering guinea fowl on right. "PARKER BROS." is engraved above each scene. Trigger plate engraved w/ another scene of two standing gallinaceous fowl. S# is on trigger guard tang. Nicely figured American Walnut capped pistol grip buttstock measures 14" over Parker dog's head buttplate w/ spur. Standard point pattern checkering is at grip & a vacant silver shield is on toeline. Matching splinter forend has usual shaped metal tip & Deeley type release w/ patent date. MEASUREMENTS: Bore diameters: left .729, right .728. Bore restrictions: left 0.035 (Full), right .0. Minimum wall thickness: left .034, right 0.032. DAH: 1 3/4". DAC: 2 7/8". Cast: 0. WEIGHT: 7 lbs. 4 oz.. CONDITION: fair to good. Bbl. retaining approx. 20% original damascus finish. Action has some case hardening color where protected, but is mostly pewter gray. Stocks have traces of original finish, but show considerable wear, added oil & a lg. number of scratches & marks. Checkering heavily worn almost smooth. Cheeks of stock have been pinned. Bores are very good w/ some scattered light pitting & a few dents that need some attention most notably in bbls. Tops of both bbls about 4" back from muzzle. Action is tight. Mechanically good. (01-19104/MGM). ANTIQUE. $1,000-1,400.
