Cal. 11.25mm (45 ACP). S# 77884. Bbl. 5" numbered 38770 at port area. Mfg. at Argentine arsenal 1938-1953 (approx. 113,000 units) mainly for Argentine military use; some sold commercially to include sales to England during WW-II (approx. 10,000 with "B" before serial number). Very similar to Colts with main difference being pivoting trigger and integral mainspring housing with lanyard loop; bbls. and magazines interchange with Colt. Right of slide with Argentine crest marked "EJERITO ARGENTINO" indicating Army use; bottom of slide numbered 77884 plus 38770 on top behind ejection port; right side of frame above trigger numbered 38770. Swooping spur hammer and vertically grooved hardwood grips. Left front of triggerguard and left side of slide between cocking grooves have "F" within oval proofs. Colt style fixed sights. MAGS: 1 very good unmarked 7 rd. CONDITION: good as high gloss refinished with minor blemishes remaining plus light scratches (light to moderate pitting under grips); plum hued bbl. All markings clear and edges well preserved; no import marks. Very good grips with minimal handling marks. Right frame rail between disconnector and rear has 2 small cracks that extend into mag. well; have competent gunsmith evaluate before using (functions properly by hand). Good bore with faint frosting in grooves (especially near chamber). (23-1039/NW). CURIO. $250-400.
