AND WITH UNUSUAL FOR GRADE ORIGINAL BALL GRIP. Cal. 12 Ga., 2 3/4". S# 235039. This gun matches all specifications as set forth in the Parker identification ledger. The 30" bbls. are marked "PARKER BROS MAKERS MERIDEN. CT. U. S. A. ACME. STEEL." on matted concave rib set with two white beads. All correct markings are on bbl. flats and lumps including frame size "1 1/2". Splinter is of reinforced type. Case hardened Parker action features automatic safety and nickel plated double triggers. It is engraved in late Parker style with near full coverage varying size scroll within geometric borders which surrounds dog scenes on sides. With pointing setter on left, and pointer on right. "PARKER BROS" is on scrolled ribbon behind each scene. Triggerplate is engraved with scene of a duck flying over a Marsh. Serial number is on trigger guard bow. Round knob (ball) pistol grip buttstock of nicely crotch figured American walnut measures 14 3/8" over "Pachmayr Whiteline" pad. Stock features losenge shaped drop points and fancy border checkering at grip as well as a large vacant silver oval on toeline. Matching splinter ejector forend has ejector patent dates on iron. MEASUREMENTS: BBLS: Bore Diameter: R .734", L .734". Restriction: R .027" (MOD), L .036" (FULL). Min. Wall Thickness: R .030", L .032". STOCK: DAH: 2 5/16". DAC: 1 1/4". LOP: 14 3/8". CAST: neutral. WEIGHT: 7 lb. 13 oz. CONDITION: fine, mostly original as found. Bbls. retaining over 90% blue with some scattered freckling but very little wear and only show a few minor light scratches. Action retains 60-70% original case hardening color with areas turning to brown around bottom. Freckling is present, mostly on right side. Traces of blue remain on trigger guard which is mostly dark gray to brown. Stocks retain 85-90% original finish with some scattered marks and scratches. Checkering shows little wear. Pad is relatively new. Bores are bright and shiny without any noted problems. Action is tight. Ejectors do not fire. Gun could use a good cleaning. The Parker story estimates 184 CH guns were made with Acme steel 30" bbls. (22-5327/MGM). CURIO. $5,000-8,000.
