AUSTRIAN WWI MODEL 95 STRAIGHT PULL BOLT ACTION

MILITARY RIFLE WITH BAYONET. Cal. 8x56R. S# 9151x. Bbl. 30". S# matches on receiver, bbl., bolt & stock. Receiver ring marked on top w/ “Styer M.95”. Bbl. marked over chamber w/ “S” plus "Wn" crest "16". Rifle was changed from its original 8x50R cartridge to the 8x56R. Ladder rear sight graduated to 2600m. Top side of sight has been polished bright. Inverted V front sight. Stacking bar is present. Non matching hardwood stock set. Buttplate marked “34.R.” indicating use by the 34th infantry regiment. UNATTACHED ACCESSORIES: correct type 9 3/4" fullered blade bayonet w/ the characteristic Austrian design of the cutting edge on the upper side of blade. Blade marked on left ricasso w/ imperial eagle & boxed acceptance mark. Right ricasso marked “CEWG”. Hardwood grips appear to be hobbyist made replacements. Blued steel scabbard. Bayonet is polished bright. Blade has been lightly sharpened. Grips have light wear & staining. Scabbard has dents & scratches w/ arsenal rework type blue finish. CONDITION: stock set has moderate wear, scratches, staining & handling marks throughout. Buttstock appears to be replacement as original S# has been lined out. Metal has lg. degree of arsenal rework blue finish w/ light wear & scattered areas of fine oxidation. Poor, dark oxidized bore. (21-130/RW). CURIO. $200-400.
