Al Biesen Custom Mauser Bolt Action Sporter, #8162, .270 cal., 22-1/2'' barrel, blue finish, machine-turned bolt, extractor and follower, fleur de-lis carved checkered pistol-grip walnut stock with sling swivel eyelets and small aluminum plaque engraved ''LGG'', with checkered steel buttplate having provision for extra cartridges. Top of barrel marked ''Al Biesen, Gunmaker, Spokane, WN''; left side of receiver rail marked ''DWM Berlin''. Topped with a Bushnell 4x12 Elite 3200 scope on Buehler ring and mounts. Famed sportswriter Jack O'Connor helped to make Al Biesen one of the most famous gunmakers in the world. After commissioning his first rifle from Al in the 1940s, he deemed it too pretty to shoot, and requested he build him another one. Biesen's fleur de-lis stocks are his trademark checkering pattern. Condition is very good to fine. Metal components retain approx. 94% blue. Right side rear receiver ring with two additional holes drilled for Lyman or Redfield style peep sight.
