Adam Redford owner of Fast River Freight is offering the 9-day do-it-yourself (DIY) moose hunt on the Yukon river, based out of Russian Mission for 3 experienced remote wilderness moose hunters. The lower Yukon river has the healthiest population of moose in Alaska and an unheard of 2 moose (one antlered) limit per hunter. Top this off with great pike and sheefish fishing and you and your party are in for a great adventure!

Unit 18 Lower Yukon Resident Only Season: Two moose only one of which may be an antlered bull, taking calves or cows accompanied by calves is prohibited HT Aug 1-Sept 30th. Moose, black bear, and grizzly bear are abundant. There is also great fishing for a variety of Alaskan freshwater species such as salmon, char, pike, grayling, and sheefish.

This is a do-it-yourself wilderness moose hunt, that provides logistics to a base camp, onsite orientation and a 20-24ft boat/motor rental for the duration on your hunt. Upon your arrival at Russian Mission, Fast River Freight will pick your party up and provide transportation 5 miles upriver to their basecamp, onsite orientation, boat rental and transportation back to Russian Mission.

This area in Unit 18 is an any bull area. It is very remote, and your party will need to provide your own camping and hunting equipment. The boat rental offered in this auction item is a 22 to 24 ft river boat that has a capacity of at least 2,000 lbs. and includes all the safety equipment you need to safely operate the boat.

Public Land: This is a public land hunt. Hunters are expected to ensure that you are camping and hunting on public land. SCI Alaska Chapter will give the winner a Garmin gps with Alaska map software, that provides land owner information that will help you ensure that you are hunting on public land.

Included: Transport from Russian Mission, 9 day boat/motor rental with at least a 3 hunter/2000 lb load capacity. Basecamp area to bone, box and freeze your meat and transportation back to Russian Mission. SCI Alaska Chapter will include a Garmin GPS with Alaska Maps.
