Alberta, Canada is home to a thriving population of two species of moose. The top six Canadian moose shot in Alberta have all scored over 220 inches, with the largest scoring a whopping 226 7/8".

Three of those moose are on the Boone & Crockett top 10 Canadian moose of all time. Safari Club International (SCI) classifies the moose found in the southwest corner of Alberta as Shiras moose, with 4 of them having scored in the top 20 all-time. Whether you opt for a fly-in tent camp, a remote river canoe trip, a horseback hunt in the mountains, or a prairie hunt supported by ATVs, your moose hunt in Alberta will be second to none. With the help of your selected outfitter, you will be able to hunt beyond the regular season dates in any Wildlife Management Unit (WMU) where a moose season exists, pursuing either Canada moose or Shiras. Not only that, but the permit also allows weapon of choice, offering a chance to rifle hunt before other hunters can. There is no better opportunity to find the monarch moose of your dreams.

LICENCE CONDITIONS
The holder of this Antlered Moose Minister's Special License is authorized to hunt one antlered moose, in accordance with all provisions of the Wildlife Act and Wildlife Regulation unless exempted in the conditions below. This special license is valid from August 25,2026, to August 24, 2027, in any Wildlife Management Unit (WMU) where a moose hunting season is identified in the current Alberta Guide to Hunting Regulations.

This license may be held by hunters of any residency status, however, a license holder who is not an Alberta resident must enter into a contract with the holder of a valid Outfitter Permit and be accompanied by a designated guide in accordance with the Wildlife Regulation.

This license does not authorize hunting in any location where hunting is prohibited as outlined in the Wildlife Regulation and the current Alberta Guide to Hunting Regulations.

This license does not authorize hunting on Sunday in WMUs where the Sunday hunting of big game is prohibited.

While hunting under the authority of this license the hunter may use any legal weapon as defined in the Wildlife Regulation. Please note that the use of rifles during archery seasons should be undertaken with extreme caution and consideration as archery hunters may be using decoys to hunt several big game species. Please be considerate of other hunters to avoid conflicts and ensure safe hunting for all.

A hunter is required to hold a Wildlife Certificate before hunting and, when hunting with a bow, must hold a bow hunting permit. This approval does not exempt the MSL holder from the need to follow weapons use restrictions governed by other applicable legislation and regulations, including municipal bylaws.

This license opportunity may not be designated to a hunter or license holder via fee or remuneration (may not be sold or exchanged for value). Note: 10% will be deducted from the final bid price of this special license, which will be dedicated to the Western Hunting and Conservation Expo. If the winner of this item refuses to pay the premiums required, the license shall be offered to the next highest bidder for the last price they bid.
