Understated and little known for its world-class Merriam's turkey hunting, Alberta is a must
for any serious hunter. Otherwise closed to non-resident turkey hunting, this unique opportunity
warrants serious consideration. With a thriving turkey population in the Rocky Mountain
foothills, you won't find a more beautiful place to harvest a Long Beard. This is definitely a
collector's bird; an exceptional opportunity for anyone seeking a new hunting destination where
trophy potential abounds. Come experience the beauty and variety of game while hunting
southern Alberta's Merriam's turkey... and don't forget to bring your camera!
The purchaser of this license will be authorized to hunt one (1) wild Turkey between September
1, 2023, and August 31, 2024. This license is valid in Alberta, in any Wildlife Management
Unit where a wild turkey hunting season is identified in the 2022 Alberta Guide to Hunting
Regulations. This license does not authorize hunting in any location where hunting is prohibited
as outlined in the Wildlife Regulation and the Alberta Guide to Hunting Regulations. This
license authorizes the license holder to use shotgun or bow only, as prescribed in the Wildlife
Regulation. Funds derived from the sale of this license will be used to supporting Alberta's understanding
of its wildlife resources, building up foundational management data through various
wildlife inventory efforts.
Conditions: The license cannot be resold or transferred. The buyer can be an Alberta resident, a
non-resident, or non-resident alien. If the license holder is a non-resident or non-resident alien,
they will be required to hire a licensed Alberta outfitter and be accompanied by a designated
guide. To find an outfitter, the purchaser should visit the APOS website at apos.ab.ca. The cost
for hiring the outfitter is not included in the sale price of the license.
