*This piece was acquired prior to the Marine Mammal Protection Act. It is Pre-1972.* Antique Scrimshawed 1870's Era "Ulysses S. Grant" SPERM WHALE TOOTH. It measures 5.25" Tall x 2.25" Wide x 1.75" Thick and Weighs 12 oz. This is Not A Reproduction! The Hollow inside goes to a smooth point. If you look closely at the base you can see faint concentric circles or striations of Dentin. Whale teeth grow in layers much like a tree. TAXIDERMY AND WHALE TEETH
