an exceptional, highly desirable piece of early 20th-century firearms advertising. This lot features an original 1920s die-cut cardboard counter display sign manufactured for the united states cartridge company, promoting their legendary . 22 n.R.A. Long-rifle cartridges line. distributed exclusively to hardware stores and gun shops in the mid-1920s, these rigid paperboard signs were intended for temporary storefront or countertop use. Most were discarded at the end of the promotional cycle, making surviving examples exceptionally rare. the striking graphics feature a lifelike standing rabbit overlaid with a target grid to illustrate accuracy for small-game hunting. The prominent, iconic orange and white "us" logo anchors the center. The lower field highlights the two primary ammunition variants of the era: "solid point" (accurate for target shooting) and "hollow point" (deadly for small game). of particular importance to serious collectors is the intact printer's production mark in the lower-left corner reading "c.S. 81-2-26. ", precisely dating the production of this sign to february 1926. the sign has been professionally preserved and custom-housed in a premium presentation format. It features custom-layered, multi-tier matting in deep crimson and gold, encased in a dark-stained wood frame accented by an elegant beaded inner liner. sign: excellent vintage condition.
