Antique Three-Band Fullstock Percussion Infantry Musket, Likely Adapted From a European Single Shot Flintlock Musket, NVSN, approx. .75 cal., 41'' round barrel (with a short octagonal section at breech) has a blade front sight integral with brass double-strap front barrel band and a raised grooved rear sight atop breech area; an arrow-shaped bayonet lug is mounted below the muzzle; beveled steel lockplate with pointed rear teat; heavy military-style hammer and percussion bolster; furniture including brass triggerguard with front sling swivel, brass serpentine sideplate, three spring-retained brass barrel bands (top with sling swivel), iron buttplate marked ''450'' at top tang screw; and iron ramrod, with one-piece hardwood fullstock. Condition is fair to good retaining no original finish, with metal having a deep brown age patina mixed with scattered medium-to-heavy pitting (especially heavy at breech/nipple area). Stock with left-side recessed ''cheekpiece'' shows a ''(crown)/HP'' mark at left butt, two ''(crown)/B'' marks on raised apron opposite lock, several associated marks on bottom of butt, and ''M168'' on right butt, in addition to the expected scars and scrapes from age and hard military use, but is solid. Action is strong; bore shows deep rust. Est.: $200-$400. (Antique)
