Antique Allen's Patent Single Shot Double-Action Percussion Pocket Pistol, #66 (or #99), .36 cal., 3'' half-round half-octagonal barrel has cannon-turned ring at juncture, no sights, is marked ''Patented'' on top, ''Cast Steel'' on left flat and ser. no. on bottom; frame has loose floral engraved sides, central bar hammer marked ''Allen's Patent'' at left, separate loop trigger guard and integral gripstraps, with two-piece varnished walnut grips. Mfg'd ca. 1830s-early 1860s with full-blued finish, in just several thousand qty. Condition is very good, the metal retaining no original finish but overall gunmetal gray with scattered dings and discoloration. Grips are solid and smooth with minor marks. Markings/engraving are good; action functions; bore is clean with light frosting and sharp rifling. Est.: $200-$350. (Antique)
