Antique Belgian Percussion Carbine, NVSN, .75 cal., 20" round barrel without sights, marked only with an "ELG/(star)" Liege proof; 8.75" serpentine lockplate has nipple bolster with cleanout screw and crudely-welded hammer with large cocking-loop, likely altered from flintlock; iron fittings include blued trigger guard and buttplate marked "56.LSt.B./1313" at top screw, left-side 10" sling bar and ring attached at front to tapered brass nosecap; halfstock of varnished pine-like wood has dished cheek rest at left. Carbine may be an assemblage of parts from other guns, as stock has a 2.75" patch behind lower trigger guard tang, blued parts do not seem to match rest of gun, and lockplate has 2 vacant (frizzen spring?) holes at front. Condition is good with polished bright barrel, gunmetal lock, toned brass and most blue to guard and buttplate. Action is crisp, smoothbore is clean with light frosting. Est.: $350-$500. (Antique)
