Antique British Double Action Percussion Pepperbox Revolver, NVSN, 10mm cal., 4" fluted 6-shot barrel group has border engraving at muzzles, "(crown)/(crossed scepters)/BCP" proof mark over each chamber; frame marked "Improved/Revolving-Pistol" at left, has floral and border engraving, central hammer with sliding safety, loop trigger guard, integral gripstraps, finely-checkered and varnished burl walnut grips with vacant German-silver nameplate at wrist and engraved band at oval butt with trap for percussion caps. Mfg'd ca. 1830s-60s. Condition is excellent retaining approx. 98% bright nickel with a few small dings on barrels and darkened case colors. Grips show light wear to delicate checkering, lovely color and grain. Edges, engraving and markings are sharp. Action functions intermittently, smoothbores are bright appearing unfired.
