Antique Civil War Era Belgian Double Action Pinfire Revolver, in the style of Lefaucheux, NVSN, 11mm cal., 5.625'' round barrel has a dovetailed high bead front sight and is marked with an ''ELG'' (Liege) proofmark at right lug; full-fluted 6-shot round cylinder is marked ''18'' on front face; frame with right-side hinged loading gate (marked ''18'') and large recoil shields has a separate loop trigger guard and integral gripstraps with lanyard loop at butt, two-piece varnished and ebonized hardwood grips. Mfg'd ca. 1860s, likely with full-blued finish but for case hardened hammer and trigger. Condition is very good, the barrel with 10% original blue in protected areas (esp. lug sides), the cylinder with a dull brownish-gray patina, the frame lightly cleaned of erosion to a gunmetal color, the balance of the metal with a dark discoloration that should clean off. Grips are smooth and unmarked but for a tiny hairline crack at right top. Action is crisp; bore shines showing scattered frosting and sharp rifling. Est.: $400-$600. (Antique)
