Antique Colt Model 1873 Single Action Army Revolver, with holster, #34233 (frame), .45 Colt CF cal., 5.5'' round barrel has reduced front sight and early-style ''bullseye'' ejector rod head; fluted 6-shot round cylinder is unmarked and likely later; solid frame has long topstrap sighting groove, right-side hinged loading gate batch-marked ''1417,'' is marked ''J.T.C.'' (military inspector John T. Cleveland) and ser. no. at front, two-piece non-matching gripstraps, one-piece oil-finished walnut grips. Mfg'd ca. 1877 (frame). Condition is about good as completely refinished in full nickel-plate, obliterating all markings but for bottom of frame and straps and exhibiting scattered erosion. Grips are sound showing light wear and fit well. Mixed numbers. Action is strong and smooth; bore is clean showing general light erosion and sharp rifling. Russet leather ''Mexican Loop'' style holster is smooth with nice color, unmarked as to maker, has border tooling, sound stitching and top opening enlarged to fit this gun. Est.: $800-$1,200.
