Antique Engraved Smith & Wesson Model No. 1 Third Issue Spurtrigger Revolver, with ivory grips, #22510, .22 Short RF cal., 3-1/8'' tip-up barrel, with blade front (and cylinder-stop notch rear) sights marked with the maker's name, address and 1855-60 patent dates on full-length top rib; 7-shot fluted round cylinder with engraved flourishes between flutes; frame with floral engraving on a stippled background, an integral top barrel hinge, spurtrigger sheath, and ''bird's head'' gripstraps, is marked ''22510'' on butt; plain two-piece ivory grips. Mfg'd ca. 1868-81. Condition is very good. Metal retains traces of original blued finish, barrel address is weak, engraving is sharp. Grips with an ivory patch to right side but otherwise smooth with nice color. Barrel hinge is sound; action is smooth and tight; bore is clean with deep rifling. Est.: $300-$500. (Antique)
