Antique German Model 1879 Reichsrevolver, dated 1882, #1196, 10.6x25mm cal., 7'' round-to-octagonal barrel with cannon-turned muzzle marked ''10.55'' on left barrel flat, with blade front sight; metal with a blued finish; hammer and trigger are silvery gray; two-piece hardwood grips with lanyard ring in butt. All numbered parts are matching. Left side of the frame is stamped ''S&S V.C.S. CGH Suhl'' within an oval. Butt with ''B.A.M. 5.11'' regimental markings. Condition is very good showing a mostly brown patina with areas of gunmetal gray on the barrel, blue finish on the front of the frame, and clear markings. There are some intermittent spots of mild pitting on the metal, including one more noticeable spot on right side of barrel. Cylinder and grips with moderate impressions and overall this revolver shows normal signs of military use; grips are sound, no chips or cracks. Action is smooth and crisp; bore with some spots of light erosion, rifling is defined. Est.: $900-$1,200. (Antique)
