Antique Marlin Model 1891 Takedown Lever Action Rifle, #81325, .32 RF cal., 28'' round barrel with dovetailed German silver blade front and adjustable buckhorn rear sights, marked with maker's name, address and patent dates in two lines ahead of rear sight; 3/4-length under-barrel magazine tube; solid frame with right-side cartridge ejection and knurled takedown knob marked ''Marlin Safety'' flanked by feather-like finials on top, and ''81325'' at bottom front; loop operating lever; varnished walnut stocks with steel nosecap and crescent rifle buttplate. Mfg'd 1893. Condition is very good. Barrel and mag tube retain approx. 60% thin but glossy blue; receiver with about 40% thin blue; lever and hammer show hints of case colors but have mostly silvered out, nosecap and buttplate are a dark gunmetal gray. Stocks are smooth and solid showing normal age/use marks, a 1.25'' patch of filler ahead of the buttplate tang, and most of what may be original varnish finish. Action is smooth; bore is overall etched with very good rifling. Est.: $600-$900. (Antique)*
