Antique Merwin, Hulbert & Co. Large-Frame Frontier Single Action Revolver, #15948, .44 MH&Co. CF cal., 7" round barrel marked with the MH&Co. name, address, and 1874 thru 1877 patent dates on top, "Hopkins & Allen Manufacturing Co., Norwich, Conn. U.S.A." (the actual mfr.) at left, has tall integral blade front and notched topstrap rear sights; "scoop" fluted 6-shot round cylinder made as a unit with barrel that rotates to side for loading/extraction; frame has separate trigger guard, integral gripstraps with lanyard loop at butt, 2-pc. checkered hard rubber grips with vacant circular panel at top. Mfg'd ca. 1876-80. Condition is fair retaining no original finishes but overall cleaned dark metal, showing scattered light erosion and battering. Grips are replacements showing light wear and fit fractionally small. Barrel is frozen and does not rotate open, action does not cock or rotate cylinder, bore shows overall moderate erosion and vestigial rifling. Est.: $400-$600. (Antique)
