Antique Merwin & Hulbert Single-Action Spurtrigger Revolver, #1379, .38 CF cal., 4.5" round barrel has Hopkins & Allen name, address, and 1874-1877 pat. dates on full-length top rib, swivels right and slides forward with 5-shot "scoop-flute" cylinder for loading and extraction; frame marked "Merwin Hulbert & Co./New York U.S.A." at left and "38 Cal." at right has sliding loading gate, integral spurtrigger sheath and grip straps with peaked "skull cracker" and lanyard hole at butt, 2-pc. checkered hard rubber grips. Mfg'd 1870s-80s. Condition is good retaining approx. 85% barrel and cylinder finish, 40% to frame showing darkening and moderate erosion at sides and backstrap, fine edges and markings. Grips show only light wear. Barrel hinge is tight, action is crisp, bore is brilliant with sharp rifling. Est.: $700-$900. (Antique)
