Rare Antique Remington Model 95 O/U Double Derringer, Early Type 1 without Extractor, NVSN, .41 Short RF cal., 3'' round superposed barrel group marked with maker's name and address on left rib, ''Elliot's Patent Dec. 12, 1865'' on right, tips up when lever on right side of frame is swung forward; frame has integral spurtrigger sheath and ''bird's head'' gripstraps, two-piece finely checkered black hard rubber grips. Mfg'd ca. 1866, under 2,000 qty. Condition is good to very good as completely and professionally refinished in full nickel plate with gold-plated hammer, trigger, screw and lever; nickel is bright and 97%, gold shows light wear (esp. lever). Grips are virtually new with sharp checkering; edges are good and markings are clear. Has the look of a real ''riverboat gambler's'' pistol. Action is strong and smooth; barrel hinge is sound; bores are clean showing light frosting and defined rifling. Est.: $700-$900. (Antique)(John Ackerman collection)
