Antique Smith & Wesson Model No. 1-1/2 First Issue Single Action Tip-Up Spurtrigger Revolver, #3410, .32 RF cal., 3.5'' top-hinged octagonal barrel with small blade front and no rear sights, marked with maker's name, address and 1855-59 patent dates on full-length top rib, has spring-loaded release at bottom; round 5-shot cylinder is marked ''B8'' on front face (repeated on rear face of barrel lug); spurtrigger frame has integral gripstraps marked ''3410'' on flat butt and two-piece varnished rosewood grips. Mfg'd ca. 1865-68, originally with full blued finish. Condition is very good, the barrel and cylinder are a dark tone with scattered light erosion, the frame has 15-20% original blue with dark erosion at topstrap. Grips are sound and smooth with approx. 65% varnish and wear at left bottom. Good edges and markings; barrel hinge is secure; action is crisp; bore is bright with scattered etching and distinct rifling. Est.: $300-$550. (Antique)(John Ackerman collection)
