Antique Smith & Wesson Model No. 1 Second Issue Spurtrigger Cartridge Revolver, #116439, .22 Short RF cal., 3-3/16'' octagonal tip-up barrel with blade front sight, marked with maker's name and address on top rib; plain 7-shot round cylinder has 1855-59-60 patent dates on its periphery; brass fame has an upper barrel hinge and lower latch, integral spurtrigger sheath and grip straps; two-piece varnished rosewood grips. Mfg'd ca. 1860-68, originally with blued barrel and cylinder and silver-plated frame. Condition is very good as completely refinished. Barrel and cylinder retain approx. 99% dark re-blue; frame with 99% re-plating. Grips are smooth (right panel of rosewood retains all of what looks like original varnish; the left grip panel is apparently a walnut replacement that retains all of its finish). Action is smooth; bore is clean with light etching and sharp rifling; markings are soft but generally clear; G.E.H.'' has been marked on butt. Est.: $200-$350. (Antique)*
