Antique Smith & Wesson 2nd Model Russian Contract Top-Break Single Action Revolver, #21441, .44 S&W Russian CF cal., 7" round barrel marked in Russian Cyrillic (translates to "Smith & Wesson arms factory, Springfield, America") followed by a double-headed Russian eagle and 2 Cyrillic letters, has integral topstrap with thumb-release, breaks open as unit with fluted 6-shot cylinder for loading/auto ejection; frame has signature S&W large hinge at lower-front, hammer with unique barrel-locking notch, removable left sideplate, separate loop trigger guard with finger-spur, integral grip straps with top "hump" and lanyard loop at butt, 2-pc. oil-finished plain walnut grips. Mfg'd 1873-78. Condition is good retaining no original blue (appears to have been chemically removed) and dark case colors. Grips are sound showing moderate wear and erosion (likely sanded). Barrel lockup is tight, action is crisp, bore is bright with general light frosting and fine rifling. Quite rare, as most were shipped to Russia. Est.: $1,000-$1,500. (Antique)
