Antique Smith & Wesson 32 Double Action 2nd Model Top-Break Revolver, #21381, .32 S&W CF cal., 3.5" round barrel marked with maker's name, address, and 1865-69-71-79-80 patent dates on top rib, has knurled spring-catch at rear; round 5-shot cylinder has auto-extraction, unusual short flutes, long lead-in slots and rear locking notches, is made as a unit with barrel and marked "21381" at rear face; open-top frame has large S&W front hinge, tall barrel-latch stud, separate trigger guard with "square-back" profile, integral gripstraps, with 2-pc. finely-checkered hard rubber grips having the entwined "S&W" logo in circular panel at top. Mfg'd ca. 1880-82. Condition is very good retaining approx. 40% nickel (difficult to tell as colors are close). Grips show light highpoint wear, fine checkering and details. Edges and markings are fine, barrel hinge and latch are strong. Action is crisp, bore is clean with scattered light erosion and good rifling. Est.: $200-$300. (Antique)
