Antique Stevens New Model 2nd Issue Single-Shot Pocket Rifle, with matching # Shoulder Stock and Russet Leather Saddle Scabbard, #(star)12714, .22 RF cal., blued 15'' round-to-octagonal tip-up barrel with dovetailed Beach front and sliding-leaf folding rear sights, and auto extraction, marked with maker's name, address and ''Pat. Sept. 6, 1864'' at breech; nickel-plated frame has left-side barrel release button, integral spurtrigger sheath and gripstraps with detachable nickel-plated skeleton shoulder stock, two-piece varnished walnut grips. Mfg'd ca. 1875-96. Condition is excellent retaining approx. 95% deep barrel blue, fire-blued hammer and trigger, frame with 97% bright nickel and occasional minor marks. Stock with approx. 92% nickel showing minor marks (esp. inside lower arm) and scattered light dulling. Grips fit well with lightest use marks and most original varnish. Sharp edges and markings; strong action; bore is clean with moderately worn rifling. Scabbard has oval ''H.H. Heiser/Maker/Denver, Colo.'' cartouche over ''304,'' is excellent with strong stitching, pleasing color and two attaching straps with metal buckles. Est.: $1,800-$2,400.
