Antique Stevens New Model Tip-Up Pocket Rifle, 2nd Issue, with detachable shoulder stock, #9586, .22 RF cal., blued 14-7/8'' part-round part-octagonal barrel, with hooded Globe type front and adjustable leaf rear sights marked with the maker's name, address and 1864 patent date on left side at breech; nickel-plated frame with barrel hinge at front and knurled release button on left side, has integral spurtrigger sheath, straight gripstraps and firing pin in a bushing; skeleton stock attached by a bottom dovetail and knurled top screw; varnished rosewood grips. Mfg'd 1875-96. Condition is good to very good. Barrel, hammer and trigger retain all of what is likely an expert old reblue; frame and shoulder stock retain virtually all of their original nickel plating. Grips with most original varnish and scattered handling marks. Barrel hinge is strong; action is crisp; bore is etched but with defined rifling. Est.: $450-$650. (Antique)
