Antique Williamson's Patent Single Shot Cartridge Derringer, #20047, .41 RF cal., 2.5'' round barrel with a blade front sight, marked ''Williamson's Pat. Oct. 2, 1866 New York'' on top flat and has long fletched arrows on either side, slides forward for cartridge loading/auto extraction, and includes the separate powder chamber (with a lead conical bullet) for firing as a percussion pistol; brass frame has a central hammer within its long top tang and a brass trigger guard with barrel release button at front; varnished walnut stock with finely-checkered panels at butt. Mfg'd ca. 1866-70, originally with blued barrel and silver-plated frame. Condition is very good. Barrel retains no original finish but is smooth gunmetal gray with sharp markings; brass frame has traces of silver plating in protected areas and otherwise a light age patina. Stock is smooth and sound with sharp checkering and retains most original varnish. Action is smooth; bore is clean with scattered etching and sharp rifling; sliding barrel works as designed and locks up tightly. Est.: $400-$600. (Antique)
