Antique Winchester Model 1885 Low-Wall Single Shot Rifle, #39350, .32 Short RF cal., blued 26'' octagonal barrel, with Rocky Mountain type front and rear sights, marked with maker's name and address on top flat, and ''32 Short'' at breech; ''Thickside'' receiver has ''Pat. Oct. 7th, 79'' and ''39350'' on bottom tang; serpentine operating lever opens the ''dropping-block'' action; oil-stained walnut Schnabel forearm with buffalo horn (or ebony) insert, and matching buttstock with crescent buttplate. Mfg'd 1890. Condition is good to very good. Barrel (with knackering at breech area) and receiver retain no original blue, being an overall dark brown with scattered light erosion; rear sight is a correct replacement; lever and buttplate are a smooth dark color. Stocks are sound with typical age and use marks, and a through-bolt repair at wrist. Action is smooth; bore is dark with defined rifling. Est.: $400-$700. (Antique)
