Australian No.1 Mk III* Lee Enfield Bolt Action Rifle, #B67940, .303 British cal., 25.2" barrel, blued/black painted finish, hardwood stock set with handguard, blade front sight with protectors, and adjustable tangent rear sight with "U" notch, graduated to 2000 yards. Includes one 10-round magazine and an unmarked reproduction tan cotton sling; in excellent condition. Right side of the receiver is marked "M.A/LITHGOW/S.M.L.E.(damaged and partially visible)/III(A*/1941". Rifle went through a factory thorough repair and is stamped "D(Broad Arrow)D" and "F.T.R." on the receiver ring. Magazine is marked "C.P." and is not numbered. Right side of the buttstock is stamped with Indian arsenal "D/T(Broad Arrow)E/W". Matching numbers on forend and nose cap; bolt handle and rear sight leaf do not match. Import marked on right side of the receiver. Condition overall is good, retaining approx. 65% of its finish, showing wear and toning. Wood is good, with general scratches and marks to the darkened finish. There is a crack to the top of the front handguard and a spliced repair to the buttstock tang. Action operates smoothly. Bright bore rates excellent with well-defined rifling. Est.: $400-$600. (C&R)
