Cal. 45 ACP. S# 21194. Bbl. 5" w/ British proofs & numbered 194. Approx. 100,000 mfg. 1937-1953 as economical version of Argentine mfg. Colt licensed Model 1927. References indicate only bbl. interchangeable w/ Colt models yet mag. interchanges w/ this pistol. Notable changes are solid backstrap w/ grooved arched base, pinned pivoting trigger, smaller mag. release, different disconnector mechanism plus different appearing hammer, safety & cocking grooves. Matching numbered slide & bbl. plus "B.7159" on right side of frame above trigger pivot; likely inventory #. Right rear of frame & slide w/ matching proofs. Approx. 10,000-15,000 units sold to British Strategic Operations Executive (SOE) & other clandestine units fighting Germans in occupied Europe additionally identified by "B" before frame #. Vertically grooved grips, screw retained w/out bushings as used on 1911A1s. MAGS: 1 very good parkerized 7 rd. CONDITION: very good to near excellent original finish being nicely polished w/ minimal signs of use. Light marks by slide stop including scratch from improper installation. Near excellent bore.
