Once billed the rifle of the future the Adaptive Combat Rifle (ACR) was originally the brain child of Magpul who eventually brought Bushmaster, then Remington into the fold. It was a very early entry in the modular weapon system market boasting such early attractive features as a quick change bbl. system for changing length & cal. w/out the necessity of any tools. Utilizing a monolithic free floating upper receiver it incorporated over 15" of MIL-STD top rail along w/ Magpuls MBUS folding sights. The bbl. is a 16" cold hammered forged offering terminated w/ threaded muzzle & proprietary flash hider designed as a quick change mount for the Advanced Armament Corporation (ACC) Blackout suppressor. 2 Position adj. gas piston operating system w/ rotating bolt. The lower receiver was designed w/ a high impact composite material utilizing an aggressively textured magwell & pistol grip which also included a storage compartment for two 123 lithium batteries. Right side folding 7 position collapsible stock & a non reciprocating charging handle that could be positioned on the left or right side. Other ambidextrous controls include bolt release, mag. release & safety/selector. 3" TangoDown vertical grip below bbl. The life span of the ACR project spanned approx. from 2010 to 2020. MAGS: 1-20 rd. Pmag. CONDITION: this example retains all of it original finish w/ no obvious blemishing on metal or furniture appearing to have been utilized very little if any.
