BOWIE KNIFE BOOK. 15” overall, 10” spear point blade. This is the same pattern knife that John Wilkes Booth carried the night he assassinated Abraham Lincoln. His original knife is displayed at Ford's Theater today. “WM JACKSON / SHEAF ISLAND WORKS / SHEFFIELD” Stamped on ricasso, German silver crossguard & escutcheon, Stag grip slabs. This bowie knife Is pictured on page 317 of Adam’s 1990 text “The Antique Bowie Knife Book”, ex-Jim Parker collection. CONDITION: very good overall, blade shows old sharpening. Accompanying rawhide fringed sheath fits knife, the brass throat with stud button pulls out with knife, belt loop still attached. PROVENANCE: From the Lifelong Collection of Glen E. Mattox.
