SCOPE & MATCHING SET OF SXS 16 GAUGE BARRELS. Cal. 16 Ga., 2 1/2"/ 8x57 JR (.321" groove diameter). S# 46252. The 26 5/8" rifle/shotgun bbls. are fitted w/ claw scope bases, U-notch single blade rear & silver bead front sights in raised flat matted full length rib. Bbl. flats are stamped w/ July 1938 German Nitro proofs. Bottom of shotgun bbl. is deeply stamped “BSW”. The 28 3/8" dbl. shotgun bbls. also w/ slightly raised matted rib have matching proofs & S#s. Scallop backed boxlock action features non-automatic safety, crossbolt 3rd fastener, pin cocking indicators on sides & dbl. triggers (front set). Action has some sprays of scroll on sides over “BSW-Suhl”. Trigger plate has stamped in scene of a duck. Trigger guard is nylon. Rnd. knob buttstock of lightly figured & streaked European walnut measures 14 5/8" over open sided pad. Stock features side panels, right hand cheekpiece & point pattern checkering. Each bbl. set has its own dedicated matching splinter forend. Combo bbl. set is fitted w/ Geco 2 1/2-8X rail scope w/ 3 post reticle in claw mounts, rear w/ windage (scope does not have internal windage adj.). DBL. SHOTGUN MEASUREMENTS: BBLS.: Bore Diameter: R .668", L .668". Restriction: R.026" (MOD), L .023 (MOD). Min. Wall Thickness: R .036", L .032". STOCK: DAH: 2 1/2-". DAC: 1 1/2+". LOP: 14 5/8". CAST: neutral. WEIGHT: 6 lb. 9 oz. COMBO MEASUREMENTS: BBL.: Bore Diamater: .669". Restriction: .026" (IMOD). UNATTACHED ACCESSORIES: black plastic case. Extra set of bbls. are housed in brown leather slipcase. Interior of flap is marked “Schultz”. CONDITION: very good as partially refinished, both bbl. sets retaining nearly all of a good quality reblack. Action is cleaned to coin finish. Stocks w/ old oil refinish show considerable subsequent wear & a good scattering of light marks & scratches. Checkering somewhat worn. All bores are bright & shiny without noted major problems. Rifle bore is especially fine, shiny w/ sharp rifling throughout. Loop on combo bbls. appears to have been resoldered. Action is tight. Mechanically fine. Scope is fine to very fine w/ a scattering of marks in exterior lacquer. Optically clear. (22-4881/MGM). CURIO. $1,000-1,500.
