SIDEPLATED 2 GAUGE SET O/U SHOTGUN. Cal. 20ga. 2 3/4" & 410 3". S# P24RP1247. Both sets of bbls. are 26 1/2" w/ vent rib having fixed mod. & full chokes. Sideplated boxlock action w/ blued finish, selective ejectors & gold plated single selective trigger. Game scenes feature 4 gold inlaid mallards on right sideplate, 5 pheasants on left sideplate w/ a flying quail on floorplate w/ a dog's head on the trigger guard bow. Scenes are surrounded by full coverage foliate scroll hand engraving that extends to long tang trigger guard & forearm irons. The P4 was the only presentation grade shotgun that was entirely hand engraved. Engraver's signature "M. Bodson" is found on the left lockplate. Both sets of bbls. Have 3 piece forearms w/ satin finished fancy walnut w/ fine hand checkering. Straight grip stock of fancy walnut w/ fiddle figure, luxurious dark streaking & wraparound hand checkering. LOP: 14 1/8" to a checkered butt. DAC: 1 7/16". DAH: 1 7/8". WEIGHT w/ the 20 ga. bbl.: 5 lbs, 12.8 oz. 1978 Belgian mfg. UNATTACHED ACCESSORIES: gun is housed in a Browning Airways made naugahyde 2 bbl. set case. CONDITION: near excellent, appears unused, retaining virtually all original wood & metal finish.
