BSA NO. 4 MKI RIFLE W/ STERLING CONVERSION KIT
Cal. 7.62 NATO. S #13107. Bolt S # is mismatched, other parts unnumbered. Bbl. 25.2". This rifle appears to be a standard British No. 4 Mk. 1 with a Sterling kit converted to 7.62 NATO. The larger extractor and Sterling marked magazine are present but it retains the original 303 charger guide and floorplate w/out sling swivel. The rifle will feed and extract a 7.62 NATO round properly. The left side of the receiver lacks Sterling markings but it is marked "No. 4 MkI". The left socket is dated 1943 and marked w/ the # S. Top of the receiver is marked "ENGLAND". The ladder rear sight is graduated to 1300 yards. Front blade sight w/ protectors. Bottom mounted sling swivels w/ canvas 1943 dated SMLE sling. Walnut stock. CONDITION: refinished stock w/ added varnish and some handling marks. Metal retains 85% arsenal black paint and reworked blue with the bolt body being a silver pewter, scattered flaking and handling marks. Bright excellent bore. (22-2528/MJC). CURIO. $200-400.
