British military bolt action rifle dated 1944, with No 32 Mk II scope and mount. Used from WW2 into the early 1960's until they were replaced by the L42 series sniper rifles. Features 25" barrel with bayonet lug, protected blade front sight, folding ladder rear peep sight, manual safety, detachable magazine, sling swivels including the third triangular swivel forward of magazine, black finished metal, wood stock and handguard, wood cheek riser on butt, aluminum buttplate with trap door. Markings include "M47C / 1944 / TR" on left side of butt socket, "No. 4 Mk I" and "T" on left side of receiver, "D36671" on scope mount, "P227" on top and bottom rings at rear, "P228" on top and bottom rings at front. Scope marked "TEL SIGHTING / No 32 Mk II / OS.1650A / 1944 No. 16413". Bore is bright and shiny. Metal retains 85% finish with edge losses, scuffs, brown patina on magazine. Wood is overall near excellent with some staining on cheek piece. Scope is very good condition, clear view, post and cross hair reticle. Includes overall good condition (leather carry straps damaged) Transit Chest with metal scope case (has leather carry strap), British type cotton web sling, spare follower and spring for mag, leather caps for scope.
